OUR HISTORY

Robert Eby is a NYC based hospitality veteran who launched the iconic EJ’s Luncheonette on Manhattan’s Upper East Side 32 years ago, working every single position as a hungry entrepreneur with a vision. EJ’s has been serving creative, whimsical comfort food to generations of New Yorkers making EJ’s a true piece of New York History and a much beloved member of the community.

After many years of successfully providing the Television and Movie production industry with craft service and full service drop catering through EJ’s Luncheonette Catering.

Robert decided to “take his act on the road” and launched Roadhouse Catering in 2015.

Roadhouse Catering serves fresh, healthy, creative food straight out of its fleet of mobile kitchen food trucks.

Inspired by new trends in ethical and more sustainable eating, Robert’s goal is to bring the same joyful, home cooked feel to the family atmosphere on set.

The Chefs, and servers that work with Roadhouse Catering understand that the meals they serve are a highlight of the production crew members’ day. Therefore, the Roadhouse Chefs plan their meals to accommodate every individual’s dietary needs.

OUR FACILITIES

Roadhouse Catering now operates its own state of the art catering kitchen/commissary in Long Island City enabling Roadhouse to accommodate its many corporate accounts and its smaller television productions for any size drop catering.

For our feature films and television productions, our Crews are hard at work pre-prepping vegetables and fruit, marinating proteins and preparing desserts thereby allowing our chefs to spend additional time seasoning, cooking and serving healthy creative recipes.

Robert Eby has recently formed The Roadhouse Management Group. The Roadhouse Management group are consultants that created the infrastructure of the first New York based Studio to implement food and beverage services as an additional revenue stream for the state of the art Great Point Studios in Yonkers.

Roadhouse Management is currently busy consulting with the Rich Entertainment Group in Buffalo setting up the infrastructure for another of the Great Point Media Studios also located in Buffalo.
